Since completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of New South Wales, Lucinda has created a body of work inspired by her connection to Lord Howe Island, where she spent the first year of her life. After a recent trip, Lucinda felt moved to interpret the natural landscape of this high-energy island. Combined with growing up on Bilgola Plateau, the daily sojourn through cabbage palms and light-streaked gums has shaped Lucinda’s desire to paint subject matter as vigorously stylised representations of equatorial jungle. Her early training in classical ballet emphasises a sensitivity to movement and fluidity.
